Those are very cool! I don't care if they're official or not. If I were in the market for one of those, I'd be all over this.

I clicked on the link in the first post of this thread and saw that it didn't sell at all. Surprised me.

Also, not everyone on the secondary market is a scalper. Some charge outrageous prices right out of the gate, but on the same token, if buyers want to jack up a $7.99 starting auction to $50, they're ripping themselves off. It's not as simple as saying that all eBay sellers moving Skylanders are scalpers. Somehow I missed this little conversation before, but I'm going to jump in now. I completely agree with what you're saying here, Tashiji! (And I understand that Ank is in agreement as well, just putting in my $.02) I find it rather remarkable that some people have so much hate for ebay and the people who sell there. I agree it's not cool for someone to swipe all of the figures off the shelves and flip them for profit, but those people are few and far between. Most of the selling is done by regular folks looking to make a few bucks. How much money they make will be completely dependent upon what other buyers are willing to pay - no one is forced to shop at ebay! For me personally, I'm very thankful for the option to buy there. I have yet to see a Whirlwind in person and wouldn't have one if it weren't for ebay. Initially I never thought I would buy the 3DS set, so I was glad to get an Ignitor there as well. And then, when I did buy the 3DS set, I was glad I had a place to unload Ignitor and make some of my money back. As for the gold and silver Skylanders, they're valuable to some and not to others. That's just how collectables go. It's just about supply and demand and how badly someone wants it. Back in my Attacktix days, a single Yoda could sell for over $50 and a Destroyer Droid would go for at least $30. Last month I sold a huge lot of my extras (136 figs, I think... no Yoda, but a DD) and it went for $35. That's nuts! But there's no demand for it anymore. Same with Skylanders - if you're a seller, strike while the iron is hot! If you're a buyer, either bite the bullet and don't complain or wait until more show up at your stores. But don't blame ebay or the people who sell there.

Well said Tashiji, While it does suck that the figures are flying off the shelves and certain people buy everyone to resell, the person who causes it in the end is the one bidding on it. When Stealth Elf was impossible to find, my girlfriend had to have one, I bought the 3DS starter pack, kept Stealth Elf for her, and listed Dark Spyro, Ignitor, and The Game & Portal, all with starting bids of $.099 and $3.50 shipping. Ignitor went for over $30, Dark Spyro $25, and the game & portal $12. It was like getting Stealh Elf for free. I was amazed that people were willing to pay those amounts for $8 - $10 figures. In the end, they all left me great feedback, and loved their purchase. I guess I'm just patient enough to wait until I come across them at Walmart or Target for $7.99 - LOL

I'm not sure how often things like this are actually purchased, but I think the rate is even lower when you use bad grammar and misspell words...

Oh wow, he has 4 Dragon's Peak pre-orders available. And agreed, those things alone are real turn-offs.

Just my input too... I personally paid a little more but found different "lots" of skylanders on ebay for the ones I want and giving away or selling off the extras at my cost only. I have been able to do this at the cost of around $10-$13 for each Skylander plus shipping and have made some little kids in Canada very happy for getting a few of the ones they wanted but cannot find. As such, I will be listing also my extras on the trading post for anyone interested and I might do a contest as well if permitted. I want my extras to go home to good families who will play with them. I hate scalpers, but I search high and low in ebay to find the good deals.

Also another Ebay tip...use skylander* In your search to get both those wth just skylander in the title and skylanders in the title. And if looking for Cynder..try Cinder also (some people are naive and actually have not clue) Hope this helps a little Great tip, but it kinda screws over those of us who are looking for cheap golds/silvers
