Well, I've never been a huge fan of online flash games because they seem to cause more problems for my kids than they're worth.
We've tried logging into SSU a few times, and first of all it takes FOREVER. Then, the other day, it basically just locked up on us and wouldn't do anything.
If it's just a slow server or too much traffic, I understand there's really nothing that can be done on our end. Has anyone else messed around with this? What has your experience been in regards to speed issues?

I have always had load issues with the game, it takes incredibly long for anything to load, and switching Skylanders is a pain. Unfortunately, my computer won't recognize the portal, allowing me to switch characters faster.

The slowness of SSU is what is the word I'm looking for (redundant?). It is slow as can be but I think it is all the users that are on at once or they have to many to keep track of. same with AnkyloSwag I can't use my xbox portal on the game which makes me mad when I see a tower I have all the elements to and load a skylander that it was too late!

I havent done much with the online game yet myself. The loading speeds have generally kept me uninterested combined with the lack of any real benefit of the console / online game overlap. I uploaded a code for a fully maxed out level 10 spyro figure with all the upgrades and hardly saw any real bonus. Is there some benefit to the characters online being over 10 affecting the console game play? Also anyone using the PS3 portal? I havent tried connecting it with the wireless USB port. If swapping characters actually works with it on the portal instead of continued lair visits I might actually try it more.

Well, I'm not sure if will be the same as the PS3 portal, but my 3DS portal works great when it's connected via USB. It's very seamless on SSU.

Borrowed a friends 3DS portal and I do admit it seems to work rather well. I'll have to try my own PS3 portal this weekend. The change out is certainly a hell of a lot easier than continued returns to the lair. The game still has massive lag though. I'm curious how many servers they have dedicated to the game seeing as its claim to still be in Beta.

My portal is useless for this version of the game. I had to input 22 characters and all 9 magic items / levels individually just yesterday when I first gave this game a try. I'm already not impressed...
I just do not understand the point of this game, really. I like customizing my Skylands, but that's about it for me.

I can only get on late at night and haven't had much success playing for very long before it freezes, but I did manage to get the portal to work on the computer.
BTW...did you know that if you use the portal, you can use the online code separately for someone else?
I got a few of my characters from someone who had already used a few of the codes for his online play, but I got the toy and when I tried it on the portal to the online game it stated that the toy has not been registered for online play and I would I like to register it for my account. I said sure and now have that character, even without the online code!

Well that is cool! Can help a friend out if they are into the online game as well! What I am looking forward to the most about SSU is that it is still in Beta, so it will be getting better with time and development. Then there will be Skylanders Giants support, which is hopefully as awesome as they are hyping it to be.
