Every day we have between 60 and 90 guest viewers of the forum. I'm no forum expert, so maybe some of those are Googlebots or something and aren't real people...
But if you're real, please create an account and join in the conversation! It looks like Skylanders will be around for at least another game, so this is a great time to be a part of the community!!

Greetings Mr. Finn,
Just reading through the forum more in depth today. I noticed this post from you from a while back, so I thought I'd share a few things just for information if you haven't discovered on your own.
Googlebot, Yahoo Slurp, and MSNbot and similar spiders, bots, and crawlers are the programs that harvest information for search engines. - You can pretty much bet they account for about 10-20 hits on your site each day. While having these index your site more quickly is almost always a good thing, there are times when you don't want certain pages or images indexed. Most "reputable" spiders will obey a directive given by the robots.txt file. This file is a document that tells spiders what they may and may not index. You can also explicitly instruct a robot not to follow any of the links on a page by using the following meta tag:META NAME="Googlebot" CONTENT="nofollow".
Because of how these bots work and the importance they place on text links, many people have begun placing keyword filled text links to their website in their signatures on blogs and other comment sections. To reduce the impact that these have, you can instruct spiders not to follow one specific link by placing the following in the anchor tag:rel="nofollow". This will reduce the outgoing number of links and help you to maintain your pagerank.
Of course as the forum grows and gets more members, you may want to look into a website tracking program to view traffic, add features like instant chat, etc...
Just a thought.

Lurkers are always huge and will join once compelled to join. Some of those hits are the spyders. Some of those lurkers are actually members who havent logged in as they have not needed to create a post. Having the contest will garner you membership for sure, espically when the contest is as simple and quick as a photo. All forums have the "lurker problem" and have done different things to "solve" that problem. Best thing to do is keep the interesting topics coming and keep the mindless nonsense to a dull roar.
