Ok, so I need some help resolving a disagreement on my blog. I don't have access to the legendary figures and therefore can't check to see what their in-game stats are. Can someone please give me that information?
First off, I'm expecting that any differences are small, such as a slightly higher elemental power rating. Secondly, since they don't gain additional hit points or more powerful attacks, I think they are essentially the same as their non-legendary counterparts.

Legendary Bash: Health: 310 (max. 620) Speed: 35 (max. 75) Armor: 24 (max. 97) Critical Hit: 20 (max. 70) Elemental Power: 25 (max. 100) Legendary Chop Chop: Health: 300 (max. 600) Speed: 50 (max. 90) Armor: 30 (max. 63) Critical Hit: 20 (max. 70) Elemental Power: 25 (max. 100) Legendary Spyro: Health: 280 (max. 560) Speed: 50 (max. 90) Armor: 18 (max. 51) Critical Hit: 50 (max. 100) Elemental Power: 25 (max. 100) These are taken from the Spyro Wiki, as I do not own these characters. I do hope these are accurate, and I am sorry if they are not.

Okay, thanks for posting this Ank! Like you I have no way of checking the accuracy... I do think they're wrong on one account - elemental power HC's are +9, and there are a total of 6 of them. Therefore the most you can boost your EP is 54. That means none of those guys would max out at 100, but rather 79.
If those starting values are correct, and the ones in my Bradygames guidebook are correct (that's plenty of ifs right now) then I find it rather odd that the Legendaries get some minuses to go along with their pluses. Regular Bash is 35/12/20/32, which means the legendary gets +0 speed, +12 armor, +0 critical hit and -7 elemental power.
Regular Chop Chop has a 50/24/10/39 listing in the book in front of me. So the Legendary version gets +0 speed, +6 armor, +10 critical hit and -14 elemental power.
Regular Spyro (who is slightly different from Dark Spyro) is 50/18/30/25. There are no minuses here, only a +20 to his critical hit.
I find it strange that there seems to be no real rhyme or reason to these numbers. Nerfing elemental power is not that big of a deal, since it only even comes into play when you are in your elemental zone or have a type advantage in PvP. But why take anything away at all? It hardly lines up with a figure being "legendary."
Furthermore, while the numbers are obviously higher, I think their impact is miniscule. One of these days I'd like to try and figure out what these ratings actually mean in terms of adding damage, blocking attacks or scoring critical hits. I briefly fiddled around with the EP bonus when I was figuring out which types beats another. I do think each value equates to a certain percentage bonus of the original damage dealt. That's an experiment for another day.

In the previous post I wrote that Dark Spyro is slightly different than Regular Spyro. Sorry, that was mistaken. The information in the Bradygames guide was wrong - the two characters are statistically identical.
Nothing more than a repaint.

I can clear that up for you.
All Skylanders have 25 Elemental Power, even the Legendaries.
But here's the catch: it's not just Heroic Challenges that can increase it. Skylanders also get +7 for each other Skylander of the same element that's unlocked on your account.
That is why the maximum they can have is not 79 but 100 (+21, which is the EP bonus for having the 3 Skylanders of the same element). It also takes Elemental Power out of the equation when comparing Skylanders' stats.
