I have seen the Crystal Path of Prism Break, and I must agree it is very good. Yet, I wanted to try out his LAZOR's. I have had a really great time with this side of his tree. He is dishing out 27 damage per hit, and I have been running him crit heavy so almost every beam gets at least 1 crit of 40 in there.
And the tri-beam off a crystal can really cover the whole battlefield in lasers very quickly. Plus his range is vastly improved so hitting people is much easier. As far as pvp viability? Don't know yet, I need some testing.

If you hadn't bailed on me last week, we could've tried him out in PvP! Of course you realize if you stay with the lazor build you're losing the gem dropping (I think?) that helped you crush my Hex. Maybe not. I feel so lost without my Skylanders guidebook!

For me, that build is the tongue build on Wrecking Ball. The way I figure, he's not exactly the most consequential character with either build, and frankly, charging characters have been done to death. When I play Wrecking Ball, my main goal is to goof around, and what better way to do that than to live out every '90s Nintendo kid's fantasy of playing as the mutant hybrid of Yoshi and Kirby? While I'll be the first to acknowledge that his rolling build is functionally superior, let's face the facts here: It's Wrecking Ball, so who cares? Some Skylanders are meant for great things, and some are just great fun. Nothing wrong with falling in the latter category.
As for which builds I think have some potential--not to unseat the norms, but to go in a different direction--perhaps Smash & Bash for Stump Smash. He would need to be played very carefully in comparison to his defensively-sound Nutcrafter counterpart, but may fare better against a number of characters in PVP that the more commonly-accepted build struggles against; primarily, other melees.

I thought Prism Break was really cool when i first saw him. Once i leveled him I was disappointed. He just seems weak to me.
