Walked in to Walmart this morning, and they were stocking the shelves with these. It wouldn't ring up at the register, but the manager did an override, and as I was leaving I heard him telling an associate to pull the others off the shelf. Been playing it all day, it's awesome. I haven't been on this site in some time, is anyone still out here? Attachments:

Nice find!
I still check in here, but not much action lately. I expect it will pick up soon.

That's some pretty lucky timing! As graz said, there hasn't been much going on here for quite a while. As is the case with pretty much anything else, my kids eventually lost interest in Skylanders and moved on to something else. Since I don't have anyone else locally who has the time, energy and interest in the strategic side of the game, I lost interest as well.
And this is as good a thread as any to ask this question. Is everyone planning on buying this game? I was pretty irritated to see that the new versions of the old figures will have unique perks that my current army won't have. Seriously, Activision?? After all that was spent collecting every single Skylander, you're telling me I won't get the full experience unless I buy a second copy of those same characters?? (I might be overreacting a bit, since the path switching is not a huge deal and I have no idea what the "wow pows" consist of.)
Between that and the sheer cost of building another complete set, I'm currently leaning toward selling my entire set once the game hits the shelves and the mania starts back up. It may just be time to cut my loses.

I completely understand frustration. I became annoyed at lack of supply of figures last time around, and more or less sold my entire collection and was done with it. Then in July, I happened across a Wham Shell at Best Buy, it was the only figure my 12 year old lacked, so I picked it up. He was full on into the game again. Even erased all his figures and cleared the game out on his Wii. I found that having all the figures at level 1 again, and starting all over was probably more enjoyable then the first time around. I mean when you find that first soul gem, it's like, you just pick up that figure and start playing him, none of this, I wonder how long it will take to find it at a store.
The new game is awesome, the new wow pow powers do not excite me. I will get each of the Giants and each of the new skylanders. I have no interest in reposed, with one extra power.

How do the wow pow powers work? I know I could go searching but I'm content to wait for an answer.

Although I am worried that there will be some new stuff that I'll only be able to buy if I also buy reposed stuff. The one sample of a Wow Pow power that I saw was a new Lightning strike attack for Cynder. It looked a lot like one of Lightning Rod's attacks. Nice, but I'm not that concerned missing out. My daughter and I will be happy to have new levels to explore, and 16 new character, instead of 50+ new toys to clutter up our house.

Hit Toys R Us this morning for the Buy 1 Get 1 40% Off sale. I got All the Giants, Legendaires, and Lightcores that released today as well as the 3 packs with Chill and Pop Fiz - I also got a Series II Zook which appears to be a variant. Come sort of rock or charcoal variant. Anyone know anything about this? Is it as rare as the Gold and Silvers from the first game or is it as common as the Blue Bash and Red Drill Sergeant? I saw someone else post pictures of one or two rock textured figures like your Zook there. He may end up being valuable.
I don't think the rock texture does anything in the game. I think it's like the other silver or gold releases.
