So Nat Loh recently tweeted that Skylanders and Mega Bloks (the Lego-ish other company that makes the Halo build able sets) have entered into a partnership. The article Nat tweeted had a picture of what the toys will look like, and they will come out this fall. I can't link to the article just yet, but I will post it here if no one else does beforehand. EDIT: Here is One of Swords article about it: oneofswords.com/2012/05/mega-bloks-teams-up-with-skylanders-this-fall/

There's no question that Mega Bloks are an inferior product to Lego. However, the only thing you really need are the figures themselves, and those will be quite compatible with all of the Legos we already have. It'll be interesting to see how these are released, especially if they plan to put out every single character. If that's the case, I'm hoping they come out in smaller, lower priced packs. They would definitely come to our house if they did!

The last time I bought a Mega Bloks set, I was incredibly underwhelmed, and the pieces either stuck together too well, or poorly. Hopefully they have improved in recent years!
I hope they release individual packs for each Skylander, as that is mostly all I want besides a couple sheep or such. I know Mega Bloks has little blind bagged Halo figs, so maybe they will do something similar.
I suppose another plus about all this is that Mega Bloks are fairly cheaper in price than Lego.
Oh, and the details on the Tree Rex figure are excellent! Besides a few things, the quality of the paint apps makes it look near identical to the actual Skylander toy.

I snagged Skylanders Castle Conquest set for around 120$. Just finished putting it together today. The set was made so-so, but overall I'm satisfied. I got my Glumshanks-san and Masuta figures, so I can't complain too much. They're just too kawaiidesu! <33

I, too, haven't seen these. I vaguely remember them being announced but forgot all about it. We have tons of Legos at our house and over 40 Skylanders. This seems like a natural fit for us!
