Well, the one good thing pulled from that article is old figures will be able to reach the new level cap of 15.
I'm not surprised the new figures have new moves, they need to give people incentive to buy them, otherwise people would be content with their Series 1 figurine.
Happy about it? No. Understand it? Yeah.

Hmm... This was what I expected. Cause remember I said my brother inspected them? And he said they didn't seem to contain the physical architecture for expanding the information on the figures. Almost like they didn't think far enough ahead in regards to improving the characters, or they didn't expect Skylanders to sell how they have.
Either way its to be expected on way or another, either from a programming perspective or a business perspective. Although I personally do hope that these new ones contain the ability to be 'expanded' upon at later times.
I probably won't buy many of the reposed Skylanders, probably just a couple, 4-5 of my favourites or something similar. ^_^ Either way I WANT THE NEW WHIRLWIND!!!!! >///////<

I saw this article and was not too happy about it. Right now we never play the game, and I've got hundreds of dollars of figures just sitting there on the shelf... makes me question the wisdom of buying them all. The one redeeming quality I could find was at least they'd all be good to go for Giants. Hearing that they'll have any handicap at all is extremely disappointing.
As someone who had reviewed some figures and had hoped (at one time, anyway) to give tips on all of them, this confirms that I'll be completely out of that ballgame when Giants rolls around. I suppose I might snag one of my favorites if I find out they're especially fun/powerful, but otherwise I'll just continue with the ones I already have.
I get the logic and they'll certainly make more money this way. I just don't like it. Right now I'm not even convinced I'll invest in all of the new characters. Time will tell!
