If you've played this very long, you know that the key to big scores is the magic items. The Sky Iron Shield is far and away the best item to use to get big numbers.  Once you have the shield activated, the key is to touch as many bombs as you can. On level 4, mine gives me 9,000 points for every bomb. Today I made a little discovery that skyrocketed my score. When you get to a troll hideout and you have the shield, don't bother shooting the trolls. Instead just let the bombs keep spawning and get them all with your shield. Stay there until the shield wears off and then take out the trolls. That was my big "aha!" moment for the day  |

So far I've also found it's much easier to play on my iPad with a stylus than on my iPhone. I don't see myself knocking out any high scores on that tiny screen, but maybe others will have more luck.

Another high scoring trick: when you have the Sky Iron Shield, try to get max combos when possible. Those are normally worth 5,000 points, so the multiplier (mine was 9x until I recently maxed it out at 10x) can make a huge difference.
The Ghost Swords have a much higher multiplier - maxing at 125x - but you can't get any combos while you're using them.
Those are the best two items to use for big scores. Unfortunately it is completely random as to when and which magic items you get.

Yaggleberry, also a trick worth mentioning is that the Ghost Swords can be used to 'tap' on the enemies projectiles to destroy them. While this doesn't usually get alot of score, if you destroy the projectiles during a Troll Hideout the score is exponentially larger! ^_^ However, the score is also based on the enemy. The best I have come across was a Troll Hideout that only have the transporting Wizard Trolls. When I destroyed those wizard's projectiles I was getting 12000 per projectile!  And because it was only a quick tap the Ghost Swords lasted for ages and I racked up just over 600k score from that alone! |

That's a great tip on the Ghost Swords. I was probably so impressed with the Sky Iron Shield that I didn't think enough about how to maximize the swords. But now that you mention it, its greatest asset is that it runs out according to its use, not according to a timer. My son recently pointed out that the gun-toting trolls will shoot four or five times each before they just stand there with their weapons doing nothing. Those projectiles could also be milked with the swords before moving on to the next area.
Do you have your swords max upgraded? I'm on level 4 with mine, saving up another 150k gold to upgrade them next.

Ok, the interview starts around 26:10 and lasts about 14 minutes. There were only a few things in there to pass along:
1) It doesn't sound like they have any plans to put this game on Android or Windows Mobile devices. Sorry to those of you who don't have iOS!
2) The Legendary characters will be available in the next update, but there's no announcement as to when that will be out. There was no comment about the other handful of characters that are "coming soon."
3) In regards to high scores, he mentioned two things we already know: Sky Iron Shield vs bombs and Ghost Swords vs projectiles. However, he did say you get a nice bonus when moving to a new area when the Ghost Swords are active. I've never noticed that.
And... that's about it!
