Thanks to everyone who participated, there were a lot of great entries! In the end we had to narrow it down to a handful for the community to vote upon. Results will be shared when the voting closes, which will be 11:59pm of Thursday, March 1. Be sure to vote before then!! Now I can finally see what this Empire of Ice thing actually looks like in person!
Should I save it for my daughter's birthday next month, or give it to her right away?

While we didn't specifically prohibit this activity, I temporarily closed new user registration once it became clear this might influence the outcome. Only one of graz's votes came from a newly registered member, all the rest of his votes were from our active forum members. Once again, I would like to express my displeasure that not everyone who submitted a picture for this, was represented in the voting. I understand what you're saying and I don't hold it against you. However, the official rules post stated the following: While you can enter as many times as you want, we will only allow one photo from each entrant to be moved to the voting process. All photos will be considered by our judges and will be narrowed down to a handful for a forum vote. I can see room for some confusion there, as it mentions both "one photo from each entrant" and only "a handful for a forum vote." The intent of the statement above was that the judges would pick what we deemed to be the best entry from each participant and then choose the finalists from among those. I'm sorry for the disappointment, but it was never my intention for every single entrant to be up for a vote. I'm open to suggestions for our next forum giveaway if any of you have ideas! |

I feel awful if I offended you somehow, themorpheus. Really. If you don't think I deserve to win, then I could give the prize to someone else, or sit out future contests if you prefer.
Although I thought I took a nice looking photo, I really didn't know if it was funny or clever enough to win either.
I had no idea if anyone from this forum or the Darkspyro forum voted for me or not until today. I was already a poster on that Darkspyro board, so it made sense to me to share the existence of the contest with them. Sorry if that was out of line. Those people could just as easily have come on here and voted for someone else.
I agree with your comment as well, that, based on the rules, I had expected every member would get an entry. My daughter's photos didn't make it to the voting round either. Yaggleberry's explanation makes sense though. It would have been confusing.
