I'll decide when I can actually thumb through a physical book in my hands. Right now I'm on the fence with starting to invest in anything else beyond the game/figures. "The digital titles will feature exclusive downloads..." has me curious. I do hope the books however are a sign of the game's influence expanding outwards to other marketing avenues. I'd like to see a cartoon show and other merchandise come from the success its gathered.

As long as the price is reasonable and the product is good, this is probably something we'll grab. I like the idea of new original artwork and a greater development of the characters' personalities. I've never stuck a single sticker anywhere, so I can't say I'm too interested in that... but my seven year old daughter likes to plaster them everywhere Lots of Skylanders stickers on the door frame would be better than Disney princesses.

www.wired.com/geekdad/2012/03/skylanders-books/Well we got covers now, the books are listed on Amazon, and are coming in October, most likely very close to Giants' release date. Sticker Book seems 'meh', Eon's Guide seems fun, and I don't know what to think of the Magic/Tech Guide.

Hmm... the sticker book says "Over 1,000 stickers!" on the cover, but then the description says, "This looks likely to be a collectible sticker book where you purchase the book and a starter set of stickers and then buy packs of stickers separately to complete the collection." If that's the case, then sorry, but nobody at my house is going to be buying booster packs of stickers. Machine of Doom sounds interesting. I wonder what the mix of pictures to text will be. Ages 8 and up makes it sound fairly basic... guess I won't hold my breath for the Skylanders version of The Hobbit The Magic and Tech book just sounds ok. I've seen similar Pokemon type books, and they justify their existence more by the sheer number of entries than by any substantial information about a particular character. I doubt we'll learn much about anyone in this format... it will just be filled with big color pictures, base stats and catch phrases. That's my guess anyway. Why even have Master Eon's Official Guide? Let him have the official guide for Giants instead. By October nobody is going to be talking about the original game. It will all be about Giants. By then all of the figures will have been released and played to death. The Bradygames guide is already pretty comprehensive except for detailed explanations of adventure pack levels or heroic challenges. Even if Eon has those two things, it won't make this worth buying. Especially when people are going bananas over anything Giants instead.

For me, Eon's Guide is appealing because I lack the original guide, which is something I have wanted for a while. Now that they will have a newer version with bits of Eon commentary-like stuff inside it, it just appeals to me more. That's my reasoning, at least.

For that reading level I would expect it to be a chapter book, equivalent to, say, a Stilson Cheese book or maybe Goosebumps.
