Aloha all, While I normally wouldn't advise that people buy a game when they don't have a nintendo 3ds...here's some possible advice... If you want the three characters Ignitor, Dark Spryo and Stealth Elf that come in the Nintendo DS, Gamestop has the starter pack right now for $49.99 (not sure on shipping - you will have to gauge that yourself) www.gamestop.com/nintendo-3ds/games/skylanders-spyros-adventure-starter-pack/90693depending on the shipping costs which I hope would not be beyond $10...those three characters would cost you $20 each in that bundle at the sale price. IF you get the pack and don't have a 3DS or a friend with a #DS to give the game to...I have read (but not tried yet) that the 3DS portal can be used via an adaptor for other gaming systems...giving you an extra portal possibly one that does not eat up batteries as much. NOW - I am NOT suggesting that you go out an buy this.. I am merely stating that it is an option if you want to go that way. I will be trying out the portal idea to confirm tonight (yes I have the 3DS and WII versions) and placing my findings here...

I bought the 3DS starter pack, removed 2 figs, added an Eruptor and sold for $20 less than what I paid for it.
So, I was technically $20 out of pocket and has a Dark Spyro and an Ignitor.
Cake!
Did someone just say cake?
EDIT: I can confirm that the 3DS portal (wired) works on Wii as I tested the 3DS portal with it (given I could not test it on a 3DS as I don't have one) before I on-sold it.

NICE!! thanks for the info...do you know what the cord is that you need for the wii? I know that its USB plug to the WII but what connection is at the other end to the portal (don't have portal here at my office to check)

I know that its USB plug to the WII but what connection is at the other end to the portal (don't have portal here at my office to check) It's just a standard USB cord. The one that comes with the 3DS game is shorter than normal, but otherwise it's exactly the same.

The portal works on PS3 as well. What a battery saver.
