Here's hoping the replacements include some new figures! I admit some surprise at seeing only Drobot left. It's usually Boomer... apparently people in my area don't know how great Drobot is!

Drobot? Haven't see a single of him in ages! Sadly, we've seen this a lot as well. When we ask about new shipments, no one knows a thing. When they do come in, it is just the same ones (surprisingly enough Drill Sergeant, Boomer... um... Boomer...erm...Boo- you get the idea) and too many Darklight Crypt sets.

We have like everyone except "Drill Sergeant" ? Anyone have one they would trade?

Once the shelves are restocked, if you're still in need of a trade I would be willing to try and work something out.

Well, it's not a good day at WalMart if you have the same toy interests as we do... there are zero Skylanders other than the starter sets and the Lego aisle is almost COMPLETELY empty. Even the really expensive sets like the Millenium Falcon have been removed. I know new stuff is on the way, but I was surprised to see so much empty shelf space.

Still nothing at my WalMart. I'll check again tomorrow!

Ok, I have a Walmart update for you all. Unfortunately, it does not include me owning any new Skylanders. Now, let me tell you a story:
Every weekday I drive my kids to school and pass a Walmart on my way home. So any time I am suspecting new Skylanders, I will pop in and check what's on the shelves. This is usually just before 8am and adds about five minutes to my drive home.
For quite a while there has been nothing on the shelves. I posted yesterday morning that there was nothing there. So I was very surprised when a friend texted me around 10pm last night and told me there were Skylanders at Walmart. Nothing new, but there were still some good figures there (Sonic Boom, Drobot, Prism Break)...
Still, this really caught me off guard. If they stock their shelves at night, then why were there a handful of new figures out at 10pm? I got my answer this morning. While they do typically restock shelves all night with products that are shipped from the WM warehouse, this is not the case with Skylanders.
Skylanders are shipped directly from the producer (whom I will refer to as Activision) and are sent via FedEx or UPS. These trucks arrive at my WM daily in the afternoon, likely around 2pm. So, as it turns out, those newly arrived Skylanders had been on the shelves for close to 8 hours when my friend saw them last night. Turns out I will be the LAST one to find new figures if I'm looking at 8am!
By the way, the person I was talking to was the department manager and therefore was by far the most helpful WM employee I have to talked to concerning Skylanders. She told me that no new Skylanders will be shipped to her by Activision until there are zero left on the shelves. Given the variety that is there and the relatively low numbers, I expect that to happen relatively soon. But I don't intend to stop by in the mornings anymore!
She also told me I could call any time and they would gladly tell me what was out on the shelves. Some folks elsewhere have said the employees had tired of them calling, but even if that's the case I suggest you do it anyway. It sure beats driving all the way there and finding nothing. That's my new strategy.
So there you go, a little bit of helpful info regarding how WM interacts with Activision. I have no idea if Target works the same way (or Best Buy or TRU), and don't have any of those where I live to go ask. I'd be happy to hear if that's the case as well. It makes sense to me that it would be.
I didn't think to ask at the time whether or not she knew if anything new had been put on the shelves last night, but from our conversation I got the impression that she really didn't pay much attention to the actual products themselves - just whether or not they were there and the process of how they got there.

That's very interesting and very helpful info there! Wonder if the same applies to EBGames and Gamestop? The closest EBGames is out of Skylanders at the moment, but they still haven't gotten their stock yet, so I suppose I will be calling them tonight!

Well, I just got back from another Walmart run. They got a new shipment, which unfortunately only consisted of 3 of each of the following: Drobot, Prism Break, Stump Smash, Voodood, Sonic Boom and Bash.
I doubt anyone in our small community needs any of those. But if you do, I would be happy to send it to you at cost+shipping!

I'm sitting here in the parking lot waiting for my daughter after basketball practice. Sitting next to me in a Walmart sack is Cynder, 2 Double Troubles, Pirate Seas and a gold Chop Chop! Terrafin pack is for a friend, gold Chop Chop is for eBay, and Double Trouble is for our first forum giveaway!
If you've been on the fence about joining the forum, now is the time to get in.

Well, given the number of registered users we have, you've got a pretty good chance of winning it anyway!
Gold Chop Chop is officially on ebay. Whatever he sells for will help fund future giveaways as well.

The local walmart close to me also confirmed that they get their skylanders in from direct shipments around 2 pm as well. Having these direct shipments kinda makes finding the new ones really hard as you have no real idea when to call or show up.

I did my skylander round this morning. I stop at 3 Walmarts but only stopped at 2 today. But the one Walmart has completely done away with the display for the figures and the portal. I asked about it and they told me that since they took the display away and replaced the pegs above the boxed games with Wii accessories that they do not think more figure will be coming in there.
Im still happy the other 2 local Walmart's still have displays and are carrying the figures.
