Ironically when I first saw the Skylanders game, I thought my 11 year old would like it so I asked him if he wanted it for Christmas. He didn't seem that interested so we passed on it. My birthday was first week of January and I had mentioned how neat I thought the game was from several trips to Walmart. My girlfriend bought me the game and we were both instantly hooked! - Logging 40+ hours on it the first week we had it! By now we have bought a second game for the 11 year old as well and have collected the 3 Adventure Packs, and all the Skylanders that have been released. I hate hearing how hard it is for so many others to find them. Stores here in the Atlanta area are out regularly, but continue to get shipments in quite frequently. I bought Cynder this past Monday and that completed my set to date. We don't have Dark Spyro or the Legendary Figures, and that is fine with us. We will wait to get Ignitor when he is released outside of the 3DS pack. All in all, I love the game and hope that it spawns sequels. I think the figures are really cool and would have probably enjoyed collecting them just as much even if they hadn't been part of the game. Attachments:

Our first adventure with Skylanders was Christmas morning. Santa brought it for my son on the 360 along with 7 or 8 Skylanders.
He had seen it at Gamestop a few weeks earlier and they only had it for the Wii and Playstation so he was worried that they didn't make it for the 360, but Santa came through!
It made for a great Christmas as we co-op'd through the game! (It also sealed where his Christmas money from relatives would be spent as we scoured the city for next 3-4 weeks getting all the available guys. ;D )

I asked the game for Christmas and more 8 toys, I was super excited when I received the game and I was like: " THIS IS SKYLANDS " every day! I finished the game four days after, since them I'm a skylanderhomic

With games like Pokémon and such, I've always wondered what it'd be like if they were real. Not in the animé way, but rather, what would happen if designers actually made a game with holograms and the like. Playing with carboard cards is fun and all but I figured we were too far away from real stuff like holograms and such.
Then I learned about this game. Instantly I knew it was something special, whith the potential to change the way we look at video gaming. That's a rare thing, happening only once every decade or so. The last time it happened was the Wii, so I knew I wanted to be part of this. My spouse's a game enthousiast too and a dragon lover to boot, so I thought that it might be something for us to do together.
I was right. The game's easy enough to allow for casual gaming, but with the PvP element added, gives the neccesary challenge. But I also noticed how well made it was. The figures, the portal, the games themselves (yeah, we even got the 3DS version) are all aimed at quality, not an easy profit. It tries to combine the best aspects of games (like the duelling in Smash Brothers style or the questing/social gaming in the web version) to provide a game experience like you see in those japanese animé shows. It's really built to last, and as such it's hard to imagine that they didn't saw the hype coming.
It really is the next step in gaming to me, and exactly what the pokémon style genre needed. Spyro can be proud that he's on the forefront of it.
P.S. I normally don't enter contests, but with the Wave 3 characters being impossible to find in my country, I figured I'd give it a shot. :-)

My story is just about me searching for any signs of figurines. I have a Wal-Mart in my area that has significantly slow business. That is where I go to get my figures.

I think the randomiser should give less chance to those with less karma.
Oh bugger, I just exatled you before and increased your chances.
Quick, exalt me to even it out again...
