I'm in - but I'm pacing myself

I went ahead and picked up the portal owner's pack on Sunday, which only gave me Tree Rex. I also snagged Crusher, Fright Rider and Chill.

I had my pick of everything that was there, as they hadn't even gotten them on the shelves yet (6am Sunday morning) and were still in the cardboard boxes.

I decided not to grab everything that was available, because I want to stay away from the frenzied hunter mode I was in last time around. Eventually we will get all the giants and the eight new regular characters, but that's all I envision right now.

I admit the lightcore technology is very cool, but that's not enough to get me to grab another of the four I already have. And it probably won't be enough for me to get a lightcore of the new ones rather than just a regular version. I suppose if that's all that is available I might go that route.

I haven't heard much about the 3DS game yet. However, I never even finished the original one, so it's going to take some convincing for me to buy that version.

(How ridiculous was the Skylanders craze last fall? I bought a 3DS just to play the game. It's only the anticipation of Fire Emblem on the 3DS that's kept me from just selling the thing.)

How are the rest of you going to approach Giants?

I went to wal-mart today and picked up fright rider,chill and series 2 terrafin. I want to use them soo bad but i havnt yet recieved the game from amazon:( and i dont think im going to buy any light core, Its allot more money for skylanders i already have. I do hope to buy all the giants though. I havnt seen any yet in stores:p

pretty much the same strategy I think we will do. Collect the new characters, but not worry about the light core stuff or reposed characters.

I'm not sure about magic items yet. The dragonfire cannon just opens a new battle arena, but I don't care about that too much.

I picked up Swarm, Fright Rider, and Lightcore Drobot (I just like drobot a bunch!)
I don't have the game yet, and I don't plan to go the "get everything!" route either. If I could put them on display, I may do that, but with the 2 year old running around, they are safely tucked away out of sight, which makes me kinda sad.

So I'll grab the ones I like, Ninjini, and Eye-brawl, Thumpback and the Flashwing, probably get reposed and Legendary Drobot as well. (Conveniently, Christmas is around the corner)

I know that I shouldn't, but I'll get on of everything again.

I've never been bothered about the super rare Skylanders, like metallic and crystal.

Legendary is about as rare as I'll go.

At the moment I have the legendary Jet Vac, Eruptor and Slam Bam triple pack. Legendary Bouncer.

Lightcore Eruptor.

Swarm, Chill and the 3 starter set Skylanders.

I'm definitely going to take it slow though.... unlike first time round.

I don't know if it's just a matter of the novelty wearing off, but I just can't get into the game as much this time around. I found Pop Fizz a few days ago and he's pretty fun to play. I also went ahead and got the battle pack with S2 Chop Chop, Shroomboom and the cannon.

Chop Chop was our first addition with the original game, so there's some nostalgia there. And his S1 version just isn't very good, so I'm hoping the hype on his Wow Pow makes him better. Shroomboom is fun overall. The cannon isn't much of a magic item, and I don't know yet what I really think of the two arenas it unlocks.

The two I'm most interested in right now are Sprocket and Flashwing, they both look powerful.
